How to play Neon Runner
- Press Start / Jump to begin and to jump while grounded. Hold Slide or the down arrow to crouch on the ground; release to stand.
- Low pink blocks need a jump. Overhead purple bars leave a low gap for sliding. Contact with either obstacle ends the run.
- Distance increases while running and each collected coin adds 10 points. Speed gradually increases. Pause before stepping away; hidden tabs pause automatically. Best run score saves in this browser.
Neon Runner practice guide
Choose the action from the obstacle’s gap
A low block occupies the floor, so moving above it is useful. An overhead bar leaves its safe space below, so sliding is the natural response. Look beyond the character to identify the next shape early. Jumping at every obstacle removes the distinction and can put the character into a bar that was safely passable at floor level.
A low block is followed by an overhead bar
Jump over the block, then let the character return to the floor. Hold Slide as the overhead bar approaches. Pressing Jump again in midair does not create a second jump, and holding Slide while airborne does not make a low tunnel safe until you land. Prepare the transition rather than reacting only at contact.
A focused practice session
- Try a short run focused only on identifying block versus bar.
- On the next run, release Slide as soon as the bar has passed.
- Collect coins when their height fits your safe route rather than sacrificing the run.
What to keep in mind
This runner has one jump at a time and grounded sliding. It is a side-scrolling obstacle game, separate from Turbo Dash’s lane switching. Records combine distance and coin points.
