The classic Snake game, rebuilt clean and fast. Eat, grow, and try not to run into yourself.
Guide the snake around the board to eat the pink food. Every piece of food eaten makes the snake grow by one segment and adds to your score. The game ends if the snake runs into the wall or into its own body, so plan your turns ahead of time.
Stick to the edges early on to keep the centre of the board open for later, when your snake is longer and needs more room to turn. Try to move in loops rather than straight lines across the whole board — it gives you more escape routes as the snake grows.
Stick close to the walls early on when the snake is short, since tight turns are easier to control near an edge. As the snake grows longer, start moving in loops instead of straight lines so you always have an escape route available. Watch where new food spawns and plan your path to it in advance, rather than reacting to it at the last second.
Does the game get harder over time? Yes — Snake Bright gradually speeds up as your score increases, so later food gets trickier to reach safely.
Can I play with a keyboard? Yes — use the arrow keys or WASD on desktop, or swipe on mobile.
Is there a maximum snake length? The board has 20x20 cells. Available space becomes limited as the snake grows, so keep a safe route around its body.
Food is a destination, but the square after the food matters too. Before turning towards it, look at where your body will be when the head arrives. A short route through a narrow pocket can be worse than a longer route with space to turn. Use broad paths while the snake is short, then preserve connected open areas as its body grows. An edge can help organise a route, but following walls without checking your next corner can still trap you.
Suppose food is one square from the right wall and your body blocks the route below it. Reaching the food from above may leave no useful downward exit. Before taking that turn, inspect whether you can continue along the wall and turn away safely. If the route would close around your own body, wait for space to open instead of treating the shortest path as automatically best.
Each food adds ten points and lengthens the snake. A longer snake needs more turning room. Your best score belongs to this browser; restarting a run does not create a shared or online leaderboard.
