How to play Neon Brick Breaker

  1. Clear every brick to move to the next level. A hit earns 10 points; marked bricks in later levels need two hits. The run ends after five levels or three lost balls.
  2. The point where the ball hits the paddle changes its angle: the middle sends it mostly upward; the edges send it sideways.
  3. Catch W for a wide paddle or S for a slow ball. Each lasts 12 seconds and resets after a lost ball or level change. Missing a power-up does not cost a life.
  4. Pause before stepping away. A hidden tab pauses automatically; resume explicitly. New run resets the level, score and lives, while your browser’s best score stays.

Neon Brick Breaker practice guide

A rebound is your next aiming decision

A paddle hit does more than save the ball. The contact point changes the outgoing angle. Near the middle, the next flight is mostly vertical; near an edge, it travels farther sideways. Track the ball down to your paddle before deciding where to stand. It is easy to chase a useful W capsule and then leave the real ball without a landing spot. A wide paddle creates more room, but it does not make a missed ball return.

A power-up is falling on the far side

Suppose the ball is coming down towards the left edge while a wide-paddle capsule is falling on the right. Crossing to the capsule immediately can cost a life. Save the ball first and read its new path. If it is travelling upward for long enough, move towards the capsule, then return before the next descent. The capsule is optional; keeping the rally alive creates more chances to score.

A focused practice session

  1. Play one run using mostly central hits. Watch how much time each rebound gives you.
  2. On the next run, use a small offset to reach bricks at the sides. Avoid moving the paddle suddenly at contact.
  3. Compare how long you keep three lives, rather than chasing every power-up.

What to keep in mind

Each brick hit scores 10, including hits on two-hit bricks. Wide paddle and slow ball last 12 seconds. A new level or lost ball clears active power-ups; the five-level run keeps the score until it ends.
